Lithuania is one of the most educated countries in the European Union. More than 90% of people age 25-64 have secondary or higher education, well above the EU average of 70%. About 30% of Lithuanians have a university diploma, while the EU average is 24%. In the age group of 25-34 years, 40% of Lithuanian residents have a higher education degree, almost twice the EU average. And among Lithuanian women age 25-34, 92% have secondary or higher education - the highest rate in all the EU.
